Fish Curry

A delicious and traditional recipe for Nagercoil fish curry with coconut.
Ingredients:
Fish Fillets – 400 gms, cleaned, washed (preferably Vanjaram/Seer Fish)
Cocunut oil- 3 tsp Fenugreek Seeds – 1/2 tsp Curry Leaves – handful Tamarind Extract – 3/4 to 1 cup Salt as per taste Green chilies- 4 nos
Drum Stick- 2 pieces
Raw Mango- 2 or 3 pieces
For the masala:
Grated Cocunut - 1 cup
Dry Red Chillies- 8 to 10,round ones Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
Tomato- 1 Turmuric Powder- 1/4 tsp
Sambar Onions (Shallots)- 12 nos
Method:
Grind all the masala ingredients to a coarse paste with a little water
Mix all the coarse paste masala ingredients, chopped vegetables ( green chillies, drumstick, raw mango),Tamarind extract, salt in a pan and allow it to cook over high flame
Add fish pieces and cook for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, heat cocunut oil in a pan over medium flame
Add fenugreek seeds for 30 seconds
Add curry leaves and mix with fish curry
Remove from flame
Serve hot
