Vallarai chutney

Ingredients

Vallarai

Red chilies- 5

Urad dhal- 1/2 tsp

Mustard seeds- 1/4 tsp

Cumin seeds- 1/4 tsp

Coconut oil

Garlic- 4 cloves

Salt

Tamarind- 1/2 inch piece/ball

Curry leaves

Methods for preparation

  1. Heat a pan with 4 to 5 tsp of coconut oil, add red chillies, 1/4 tsp of urad dhal, garlic and vallarai. Saute till it turns golden brown on medium flame.

  2. Finally add tamarind and salt and switch off the flame, keep aside for room temperature.

  3. Grind those with required water to a fine paste.

  4. Heat a pan with 1 tsp of coconut oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and urad dhal, wait till it splutters and add curry leaves.

  5. Mix it well with the fine paste chutney.

  6. Serve hot with dosa, idli and even also with rasam satham.
